Most people know about the cotton buds as swabs, less people know about the cleanroom swab like foam swab and polyester swab, but there is rarely people knows about the microfiber swab. What is microfiber polyester and what’s the difference between normal polyester and microfiber polyester? Today, we shall have a brief knowledge of that.
Microfiber polyester is a kind of new polyester product of high quality, high performance, high-tech and high value-added. Microfiber and its products are mainly researched and developed in Japan firstly, and in the late 1960s and early 1970s began applied in commercial production. Since the 1990s, microfiber products have been growing rapidly in the varieties and production.
1. Microfiber’s diameter is very small, so the bending stiffness is small to which make the fabric feel very soft and comfortable.
2. The specific surface area of microfiber is very large, that make the coverage, fluffy and thermals of the microfiber fabrics much more better than normal fabric. Besides, the large specific surface area help to add more contact between the dust, dirt and fiber, there is more space for the dirt to penetrate from the surface that’s why microfiber has a really strong cleaning function.
3. The fabric made from microfiber, the diameter of the voids between the fibers are more or less between that of water and droplet, thus microfiber has good waterproof breathable effect. Still, the water absorption ability of the fabric is remarkable.
