The main role of cleanroom is to control the temperature, humidity and air cleanliness of the environment products face with, so as to manufacture the product in a relatively good condition. This environment or space is that we call cleanroom. Each country and region has its own specification, but generally people still use US Federal Standard 209 more.

We shall have a brief comparison between 209D and 209E, we are going to mention some other standards as well. The biggest difference between 209E and 209D is that 209E use a metric units and cleanroom is classified by “M”, like M1, M1.5, M2.5, M3 etc. Together with the standard international metric units, the number after the Arabic word letter is per cubic meter in M> = the number of dust particles 0.5μm word to express a power of 10, taking the index to whom, if the number of dust particles in the range of around two full power between 2 class, named as 1.5,2.5,3.5 etc.

US Federal Standard FS209D are in imperial units per cubic foot, and Japan is in the use of the metric system, that is, per cubic meter as a unit, with 0.1μm particles counting standards. Japanese standard of representation to Class1, Class2, Class3 …… Class8 said the best rating for Class1, the worst was Class8, with the total number of dust particles per cubic meter into the power of 10, whichever is index derived.
