Thermal printers worked by heating up the coating on the label or melting the ink on the ribbon, it can easily build up contaminant on the printer head, lead to a poor printing. In the printing process of card printers, it will leave some ink, residue on the transfer roller and cleaning roller. So regularly clean your thermal printers and card printers can prolong the life of your printer and improve the print quantity.
There are so many items of card printers and thermal printers, if you are confused about how to choose the cleaning products, then this article may be helpful for you. Below are four category of printer cleaning products:
1.Cleaning card
It can be divided into two categories according to the usage: card printer cleaning card and thermal printer cleaning card.
card printer cleaning card include CR80 cleaning card and long cleaning card. CR80 cleaning card can be used on all card printers, ATM and POS. Long cleaning card must used on corresponded card printer item. For instance, the size of Zebra P330i T-Long card is 76*330*0.711mm. Thermal printer cleaning card is thinner and softer, it can be used on the thermal print head. You should choose it according to the width of the print head. Similarly, thermal printer cleaning card can also be used on currency counter and bill scanner.
2.Adhesive cleaning card and Adhesive cleaning roller
Many printers contains a cleaning roller to clean card before it prints. After you printing a number of card, the stickiness will reduce, you should change new adhesive cleaning roller then. The adhesive cleaning card is mainly used to cleaning the dust on the transfer roller and adhesive roller. Adhesive cleaning card and adhesive cleaning roller can only used on card printers.
3.Cleaning swab and cleaning pen
Cleaning swab and cleaning pen can be used on the print head of card printers and thermal printers. Cleaning swab is disposable and cleaning pen can use a few times, you can change the pen head if it is very dirty.
4.Cleaning wipe
Cleaning wipe is used to cleaning transfer roller and the cover of the printer. It can also be used on the thermal print head, but you have to make sure the printer is power off before cleaning.
